In a breakthrough during the investigation into the terrorist attack on a Punjab Police building in May, police have identified two men along with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the alleged mastermind of the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Police cracked down on the attackers with the help of CCTV footage of the area.

Sources said that a henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi gang is the main accused in the RPG attack case.

On 9 May, a rocket-propelled grenade or RPG was fired from broken glass on the road at the Intelligence Headquarters of the Punjab Police in Mohali.

Bishnoi’s henchman Deepak along with one of his accomplices attacked the police headquarters with an RPG.

A CCTV picture taken just before the attack showed gangster Deepak and his accomplice in the area. Deepak is seen talking on the phone while a youth wearing a black face mask is walking with him.

Sources said that the police is probing whether Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Khalistani terrorists are now using gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi in India, especially in Punjab.

These sensational revelations have been made in the investigation of Delhi Police’s Special Cell and Chandigarh Intelligence.

Deepak Lawrence, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, is associated with the Bishnoi gang and has more than half a dozen criminal cases registered against him.

Deepak was accompanied by a minor boy from UP in the attack. The minor, who became an adult after three months, is absconding.

In the CCTV footage, the two are seen walking towards a park on the road where another accused involved in the attack had already kept the RPG. After this, he attacked the police headquarters with a grenade and fled from the spot.

Deepak was involved in a sensational murder case in Chandigarh a few years back. Lawrence Bishnoi got a man murdered despite being lodged in Bharatpur jail in Rajasthan. Deepak was also with Raju Basaudi, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

A property dealer named Sonu Shah was brutally murdered by the gang’s henchmen in broad daylight. Later Chandigarh Police named Bishnoi in this case and questioned him.

Deepak is absconding since then and the court has declared him a fugitive from the court.

Deepak had also killed two Haryana students who had come to study in Chandigarh in the fight for supremacy. Police said he killed another person in Nanded.

When Deepak went to jail for the first time in a theft case, Bishnoi’s henchmen, who were in jail, joined him in the gang. He then spoke to Lawrence several times from the jail itself and was directly involved in the killings at the behest of Lawrence Bishnoi, the police said.

The names of Pakistani terrorist Rinda and Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhwinder Singh Landa have come to the fore in the RPG attack. Lakhwinder was earlier also a gangster and used to work with Rinda.

Sources say that the police is also probing that these two terrorists are using gangsters and henchmen to spread terror in India, especially in Punjab.
